Ebb Tide

Inspired by the Pacific Ocean, this is one in a series of paintings that I did moon shells at the beach. These moon shells were in abundance many years ago when I first arrived in the Valley. When the tide is out on the expansive sand beach they appear, exposed like the moon in the dark sky. During these years I was mainly doing watercolour and felt constricted by the 22x30" sheets I was using. I wanted to go BIG. I discovered this new paper, Yupo. Slippery and challenging with watercolour but fun! This is my version of moon shells on the beach, sitting on the wet sandy beach.
